Welcome home… For those of you that haven’t been here before, I do mean home. We love the fact that we have so many return guests that feel the ranch is like a home away from home and we are part of their family. For this reason we have added some special activities just for our return family.
Opening
Week:
Join the staff as we get geared up for the season clearing trails, setting
up summer camp, grooming, vetting and riding out the horses.
Cattle
Drive Weeks:
Grab a radio, take your position and show off your cow pushin’
skills. Of course you’ll be the one with the most stories around
the campfire too.
Overnight
Trail Rides:
See new parts of our trail system by joining us on an overnight trail
ride. We are able to get more than twice as far into the mountains by
ending the ride at a mountain campsite.
All
Other Weeks:
Assist the Wranglers catching and saddling horses. Help other guests
during instruction and on the trail. Join the wranglers planning rides
or as they explore new trails. Get a radio, and help lead a group on
a ride.
Other Possibilities:
For those of you not wanting to wrangle there’s always other
ways to broaden your horizons. How about heading up a Poker or Craps
game or perhaps sharing a recipe with Jane to try out on the rest of
the bunch. Then there’s always the Fort Laramie and Kamp Kootenai
kids programs where you can share your knowledge and teaching skills
with the children.
If
you are thinking about coming back to visit us take a look at our horses
page. You might see an old friend that you would like to be paired
up with again.
A
warm summer day fishing a Montana mountain lake is a memory for the
rest of the year. Take a look at our mountain
trail pictures to help bring back the experience.
